Provides �� community members with access to the University’s fixed and wireless networks, printers, and other services on devices not managed by the University.

��’s vision is to make information more accessible. To support this goal, we are implementing Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) services, enabling access to university resources from personal devices. While we extend support for connectivity and access, users remain responsible for their own hardware, software, and data.

Code of Conduct

If you are using a personal device to access University services then you have a responsibility to ensure that University users, data and services are kept safe.

You should always ensure that any BYOD devices are configured correctly before using, and are kept up-to-date and secure.

You should also always ensure that you follow our IT Resources Rights, privileges and Acceptable Use policy, our BYOD Policy, as well as comply with our other University IT Policies.

In case of policy infringement, especially if the BYOD device is not compliant, �� reserves the right to interrupt access to the University services to this device and/or user.

All other devices (Chromebooks, Linux devices…) are not supported.

Available Services

For security reasons, not all services are available on BYOD devices. If a service is not available on BYOD devices, it will be indicated on the service page of this catalog.

Staff and Faculty Device Setup

�� community are equipped with the adequate tools to connect to the network and perform their jobs.

Employee Devices

�� Faculty and Staff are provided with tools that allows them to perform their mission.

There are two options for the standard setup, the mobile setup and the fixed setup. Devices are provided with respect to the �� Employees device policy IT007EN -Employee Device

To promote mobility, we recommend that department chairs and administrative departments managers request a mobile setup for their full time permanent employees.

Managers of administrative department can request devices for their team members using the Staff Computer Request form.

Department chairs can request devices for their department faculty members using the Faculty Computer Request form.

Please note:

Only �� faculty and staff with an active full-time CDI contract are eligible for a laptop setup.
Full-time CDD employees are eligible for a desktop setup unless an exception is requested by their managers.
Part-time CDI or CDD employees are only eligible for a desktop setup.
�� consultants and students are not entitled to ��-issued devices.
