This trip explores how human migration and cultural diversity takes place within social, cultural, and political contexts in the mediterranean world through the example of the city of Marseille. We do this (1) by exploring cultural diversity and migration through the city鈥檚 architecture, social life, and cuisine (walking tours, a market visit, and a boat ride); (2) by learning about the history of Marseille and its embeddedness in cultural diversity and migration (le Mus茅e d鈥橦istoire de Marseille, Mucem (Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations); and (3) by engaging with artistic practices by the people of Marseille (Art Gallery, walking tours).
