2025 International Data Science and AI Leadership Summit

The First International Data Science & AI Leadership Summit: EU, co-organized by the Academic Data Science Alliance, and the American University of Paris under the auspices of the UNESCO Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, will address the question of resiliency in all aspects of higher education for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Opening Keynote Speaker

David Ebert聽- Chief AI And Data Science Officer, Associate Vice President of Research, Innovation, and Impact, and Computer Science Engineering Endowed Innovation Chair in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Arizona - is an internationally recognized expert in artificial intelligence and data science. Dr. Ebert was most recently the Gallogly Chair Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and director of the Data Institute for Societal Challenges at the University of Oklahoma, as well as chief AI officer and associate vice president for research and partnerships. Prior to that, he was the Silicon Valley Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. He is an IEEE fellow and recipient of the IEEE Computer Society VGTC Technical Achievement Award. He previously directed the Visual Analytics for Command, Control, and Interoperability Environments Center, part of the Department of Homeland Security's Visual and Data Analytics Center of Excellence. His research focuses on visual analytics, explainable AI, human鈥揷omputer teaming and predictive analytics applied to complex, large-scale data challenges.

Featured Keynote Speaker

We're thrilled to announce that聽Stefania Giannini, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education, will deliver our keynote address at the Summit. Ms. Giannini was appointed UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education in May 2018, becoming the top UN official in the field. With an academic background in the Humanities, Ms. Giannini has served as Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia (2004 鈥 2012), being one of the first and youngest women to hold this position in Italy. She was Senator of the Republic of Italy (2013 鈥 2018) and Minister of Education, Universities and Research (2014 鈥 2016). She has also been closely involved in an advisory capacity with the European Commissioner for Research and Innovation.
